What a full few months it has been! Summer flew by faster than I thought possible. I have to admit, summer is way more fun when you are entertaining a toddler☺️. Everything looks a bit different from their perspective. It's an adventure to be had, a playground to be conquered, a book to be discovered, or a toy to be understood. And while it can be exhausting at times to help guide those achievements, it's also incredibly beautiful. It's taught me a lot about who I am, my relationship with the Lord, and my determination to accomplish what is set before me. In this update ~
A Beautiful Visit to Wisconsin This past June, Little Miss and I packed up the car and made the 21-hour drive to Wisconsin. Since driving with a toddler comes with tons of twists and turns, we decided to take it slow and explore along the way. She is quite the professional road-tripper now! It was a wonderful time with friends and family. My middle niece, Lili, graduated high school the day after we arrived, and I was so blessed to be able to watch her walk across the stage! Little Miss of course loved being doted on by her Mimi, Gigi, and cousins and adopted their cat as her own. Now when we chat, she always asks for 'more Simba?'🥰When we went to visit Richland Center, she made fast friends with my friends' kiddos, and nothing could have made me happier. I am so thankful for the connections that were made this trip. We left with full hearts! The School of Navigation and Seamanship At the same time I was in Wisconsin, our 2nd SONS course began. This time, we partnered with YWAM Rancho Abierto, a base situated a couple of hours south of Ensenada, Mexico, where our boat, Glory Bound, is located. These 6 trainees, along with the staff, represented 4 nations and spoke at least 5 languages among them. They graduated a couple of weeks ago, each with a desire to see the Gospel preached to places only accessible by boat. One of the girls, Samantha, arrived in Corpus yesterday as our newest staff member! Israel Bailey, one of our staff, made the videos below highlighting the school and what the trainees learned. Take a look!
This January, we move the school back to Corpus Christi and I couldn't be more excited. There's something so special about running schools, training people in specific ways to take the Gospel to the nations. Whether it's the Bible, sailing, or discipleship, seeing this generation passionate about sharing the love of Jesus is the best! If you have ever had an interest in learning the basics of sailing and navigation, check out the school! Local Outreach This month, we have been busy with outreach! As our group grows, so do our opportunities to reach out into the community. This September, we were invited by Fellowship of Christian Athletes to participate in their Fields of Faith program. Hundreds of young people heard the Gospel and had to opportunity to receive prayer. A few days later, we had one of our fall outreaches in the park. We set up camp in a shelter close to the playground and offered prayer, free Bibles & journals, and handed out free hotdogs, chips, and water (always a hit with kids!). We had some really incredible conversations! Please keep these wonderful people in prayer, that the seeds sown would bear fruit. Next month, the school district goes on its week-long fall break. Our team will be out doing evangelism and prayer throughout the week! Our Sweet 'WeeWAMers' We are a base with lots of kiddos! It's been fun watching them become friends☺️. We believe it's important that these little ones are raised to know the Lord and understand their part of the Kingdom story. This fall, myself and a few other parents have gotten together to create special group times where they can have fun and be discipled. The former elementary teacher in me is having a blast! My Mom Becomes a Texan! I cannot believe that this Saturday my mom is moving to Texas! It has been almost 2 decades since I have lived in the same state as my mom and I can't even begin to explain how thrilled I am that she will be coming to live with us. Please pray for her this last week as she closes up her time in Wisconsin and transitions to a very different climate and culture. 15 Years with YWAM On July 14th of this year, I celebrated 15 years of being with YWAM! These years have been the best and most fascinating of my life. I have been so blessed by the nations visited and friendships built over the years, it would be impossible to highlight them all. But, in a serious moment of nostalgia, I thought I would include a bit of a photo dump from my time so far with YWAM. Happy scrolling! From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU for everyone who has been with me over the years in prayer, support, and encouragement. You have made all of this possible.
